Shaving Your Bikini Area
Shaving your bikini/pubic area is probably the hardest part of your body to shave. It's a sensitive area and not widely discussed so most girls have no clue how to go about it. First of all you need to know what your bikini area is. Your bikini area is where your pubic hair grows. The part of your body that your bikini covers (hence the name). Some girls wonder why you would shave down there. Well a girl might shave her pubic area if she's going to have sex and wants to look attractive, if she wants to wear a bikini without hair sticking out or just to keep that area cleaner in general. When you're on your period it can feel a lot cleaner without hair down there.
The first thing you need to know is that you do not have to shave your bikini area. It is perfectly normal to have pubic hair and you do not need to shave to impress a guy. However if you want to shave your pubic hair for yourself then that's your choice. You also need to know what could happen if you shave down there, a cut would be very painful and as the hair grows back it's quite itchy and you're also prone to getting ingrown hairs. If you're fully aware of what shaving your pubic hair means then read on.
♥ First you'll need to trim the hair. Get a pair of scissors and cut the hair as short as you can. You'll need to lie on your bed with a mirror in between your legs to get a good look of where you need to cut. Do not attempt to cut hair that you cannot see! You will end up cutting into your skin!
♥ Next get into a comfortable place where you'll shave your pubic area. I would recommend the shower.
♥ Wet then lather the your pubic area with body wash or shaving gel. Make sure it won't irritate your vagina. If you have a special soap you use to clean your private parts then use that, otherwise a natural unscented body wash will work fine.
♥ Using a new shaver or new blade (this is probably the most important step) to avoid irritation, shave your pubic area in downward motions. You will notice if you shave in the opposite direction that it will be hard to shave and painful. This is because pubic hair is very thick and you must shave with the grain of the hair. Once you've trimmed the hair as short as you can by shaving downwards you can then shave in upwards strokes to get a close shave.
♥ Rinse off the lather and pat dry. It's normal to experience red dots afterwards, they may take up to a day to go away.
♥ Some people recommened moisturizing after shaving, a personally do not but I have very sensitive skin. If you want to go ahead with a natural moisturizer or for your sensitive girls out there use talc.
The couple of days after you shave it can be uncomfortable. Use moisturizer and/or talc to keep lessen the itch. Moisturize or pat with talc as often as you need to but at least twice a day. Keep the area clean, shower at least once a day or use wipes to clean the area.
If you're looking to have a neat pubic area but without the hassle of shaving consider trimming your pubic hair instead of shaving it. Simply clip it with some scissors once a month. If you want to have a hairless pubic area the only other option is waxing.
